more importantly, this won't be our last success on the hurling stage! looking at the wealth of talent coming through underage at present, I have no doubt hurling can go from strength to strength in our club.   kickhams abú

I dont think there is a hurling tradition in this area, something that happened over 80 years ago a couple of times cant really be classifed as a traditon.  The present day is to be concentrated on and the achievements of the last few weeks.  A tradition can start from here on in.  Some people like to steer away from the the achievement factor of the present day teams, hurling and football. Rather than just saying well done and goodluck the next day!

So by your logis csc kickhams, randalstown and cargin all can claim to have won the championship in the same year??this is the first year that a team consisting of only creggan men have won the county hurling championship!!

When the Creggan lads we playing on an amalgamation team, they were representing Creggan. That's what being part of an amalgamation team means.

So Creggan players (12 out of the 15), represented Creggan and won a Junior and Senior hurling championship.

The reason I mention this is because we have a hurling tradition in this area. One where Creggan lads have not only won Junior titles, but senior, Ulster County, and of course played in All Irelands.

This group of players should look back at our past, as it is an insight into what they could achieve

re csc your last line says this is kickhams first title and then the very next line you say this is not the first title??im confused!!

this is the first championshp with solely kickhams players ,the others may have been called kickhams but were an almagamation of creggan, randalstown and cargin, there is a bit of a difference!!

Well done to the hurlers. Great achievement!

We have come a long way from the SW junior final against the hill in the 90's. (not the most purest of hurling teams, but definitely a physically committed team)

Keep it going lads and good luck in the final

BTW, this is not our first junior hurling championship. Creggan, as the main contributor to a SW amalgamation team in the 30's, were also part of a junior and senior hurling championship winning teams. This is the first title under the Kickhams name, but it is not our first title
