Féile B semi-final defeat for U14 hurlers
Wednesday, May 14, 2014
Following their victory in the South West Féile the U14 hurlers lost out to St Enda’s in the all-county Féile B semi-final on Sunday 11th May. Played in atrocious conditions in Armoy, an older and stronger St Enda’s side overpowered Creggan to run out comfortable winners.
The game began in the worst possible way for Creggan with Eunan McAteer sustaining a leg injury in only the fourth minute, necessitating a change in formation. Despite the conditions, their age and height disadvantage, the Creggan players deserve credit for playing to the final whistle.
St Enda’s now progress to play Lamh Dhearg (South Antrim winners) in the Féile B Final. Meanwhile Creggan open their league campaign at home to Lamh Dhearg on Saturday May 24th.
Credit goes to all of the panel who participated, and also to the large number of parents who travelled to the game and who also had to endure the torrential rain.
