With a strong breeze blowing down the field in Creggans favour in thefirst half, it was going to be a game of two halves. Creggan took thelead early on with their first attack resulting in a penalty when MarkDougan was hauled to the ground. Leigh Martin stepped up to put itaway in the bottom left corner. Creggan kept the Ahoghill attackreasonably quiet in the first half only conceding 4 points. Cregganhaving most of the possession were 1-9 to 0-4 up with points fromOdhran McLarnon, Aidan McKeown and Mark Dougan.

As expected this was a lot tougher half for Creggan and they had todefend their lead. With the wind picking up they struggled to winclean possesion in the forward line to score. With another penaltyawarded after a foot block on Declan McCann of Creggan, Leigh Martin again scored driving the ball to the top of the net. With a late burstof pressure from Ahoghill in the game, they scored 2-3 in the final 5minutes with goals from PJ O'Connell and Diarmaid Graham,Creggan held on scoring a late free to seal victory through to thenext round.
