Round 3 of the Minor League ended in another comprehensive victory for our U18’s against Aghagallon.
In what was a tight scoring opening half, Creggan led at the break by 0-4 to 0-1 with the home scores coming from Hugh McNulty, Cathal Small, Ricky Johnston and Paddy McAuley.
Creggan knuckled down in the second half though by dominating mid-field and pulled away from their opponents by recording an impressive 1-9. The goal coming from the boot of Odhran McLarnon in what was well taken effort. Seamie Allen and Hugh McNulty kicked 3 points apiece, Niall Darragh notching 2 points while Michael Sweeny and Paddy McAuley each raised a white flag.
The minors are playing well this season so far, and have been clinical on the score sheet where it counts. Next up for this crop is a home Laverty Cup tie against Aldergrove on Tuesday 29th April. Nothing can be taken for granted in this fixture even though Creggan had a comfortable win against the same opponents on the opening day of the league. Aldergrove will be looking to exact revenge for that defeat and complacency is a dangerous attitude.
