ACFL Div. 4
2 May 2010

Kickhams Creggan 2-08
St. Johns 1-06

St. Johns travelled to Creggan on Sunday for a top of the table clash in the ACFL Div.4. Both sides have obvious asperations of gaining promotion so this was an important result for Kickhams. The game started well for Creggan as they dominated midfield from the off and were putting the Johnnies defence under considerable pressure. Some wayward shooting and at times poor pass choices meant that the scoreboard didnt really reflect Creggan's domination. With 8 minutes left of the first half the home side were leading 0-04 to 0-01, but as the short whistle blew they found themselves trailing 0-04 to 1-04.

With a heavy shower descending, the G&G regrouped in the changing rooms and didn't panic. The second half resumed and the deficit was very quickly overturned thanks to two sniper goals from Paul Nelson. Paul is fast becoming Creggan's version of Phil Neville as he donned his tenth different jersey number this campaign!

Creggan's defence limited St. Johns to two points in the second half which is great credit to them, as the Creggan forward line done their bit and rattled in 2-04. A great result for the Reserve Team and the half way point of the league will be reached with tonights visit of Portglenone. This side are full of confidence and will be keen to stay on top of the tree with another two points before a two week break.
