Creggan dominated this quarter final from first whistle to last as they romped home by 15 points to secure their passage in to the semi final stage of the competition.
From the throw-in Creggan set about their business with much gusto and roared in to a two point lead through Odhran and Leigh. Aldergrove didn't know what hit them as they struggled to bring their forwards in to the game playing against the stiff breeze.
Kickhams were ruthless and were in no mood to drop the tempo as they piled on the pressure on a consistent basis with wave after wave of attacks. It was with 5 minutes of the half remaining that the visitors got their name on the score sheet with a pointed free but by that stage Leigh (2), Hugh, Odhran and Ricky had all kicked points with Leigh and Marty also getting a goal each.
Creggan finished the half in total command as Aidan McKeown, Marty Johnston and Odhran McLarnon all picked off another point apiece.
Half Time: Kickhams Creggan 2-10, Aldergrove 0-01
In to the second half and with the visitors playing with the aid of the breeze they managed to score three frees in sucession to keep a bit of interest in the match. This only served to get Creggan going again though as Hugh McNulty and Leigh Martin added another brace of points each and Aidan McKeown chipped in with his second of the night.
Even though Creggan were playing in to wind they still managed to dominate all over the pitch as they treated the crowd to some great free flowing football. Points were traded by both sides as Aldergrove became resigned to their fate and Sam and Hugh rounded off the scoring for Creggan.
Safely through to the semi final, Kickhams will face the winners of Dunloy and Gort na Mona who play on Monday night for the right to contest the County Final. This team have just taken each game as it comes and met the challenges head on and thoroughly deserve to be where they are at.
