U10 Indoor Hurling Blitz 1&2

The First 2 Indoor Blitzes were held last weekend in the superb indoor Facilities at Keady High School in Armagh.  11 of the 12 Teams attended with the host club supplying 4 teams and Middletown and Armagh Cúlchainns both supplying 2 teams.  There was representation from Tyrone with Eoghan Rua-Dungannon contributing 2 teams.  Down were represented by Ballyvarley.  In total there was 30 games played in 2½hrs.  It was a great Blitz with the new Ulster hurling Indoor rules being implemented with ease.

With the exception of Blitz 8 (125 Provincial Blitz on Sunday 19th April from 1:30pm-3:00pm) all the Ulster Blitzes are now FULL UP.

Ulster U10 Indoor Hurling Regulations

Notes:

*     These games are for the benefit of the boys involved.

*     There should be no negative shouting at players or referees

*     Teams must line up and shake hands with the opposition after each match

*     No food or drink will be provided by the Ulster Council so teams are asked to provide lunch/ snacks for themselves.  Food and drink are NOT permitted in the halls.

*     We are on a tight time frame and games will be run off as fixture list.  If games are missed due to lateness they will not be re-fixed.

*     All teams must be at the venue at least 15mins prior to the first game.

Playing Rules:

*     Players must be born after 1st January 1999

*     Teams are 5-a-side (Max Panel of 7 players)

*     Unlimited substitutions

*     All ground hurling with a ‘First-Touch’ sliotar

*     No kicking – accidental contact with the feet is permitted

*     Games are 5 minutes straight or if one team reaches 5 goals the game is over.

*     Any personal foul will result in a penalty 1v1.

*     All players must be at least 5m from frees and puck-outs.

*     There is NO semi-circle rule.

*     After ANY GOAL (either for or against) each team must change their Goalkeeper.
