Sean McAuley - 1000km Camino Trek in 40 days for Meningitis Research
Thursday, September 21, 2017
Sean has reached the half way mark of 20 days with over 500km walked!
With very limited internet access during the trail trek starting in France and finishing on the other side of Spain. Sean has managed to keep posting short updates on his progress made. At the half way stage Sean has sent us this message along with some images to give us all an idea of what it is like.
"Well I have now made it half way. Over 500km completed in 20 days so on target. Cold in the mornings 5-7d with fog but up to 25d pm. Feet still good but trainers wearing badly now. Some people have bad blisters on toes and heels. 90% of walking on trails which is good. Only hardened walkers on trail now, others stopped in Burgos - big city with a beautiful Cathedral. Spain has lots of beautiful churches with irreplaceable art effects. Must have been a v rich country. Food now paella, omelettes, pasta, salads and yogurts. V dry land, all cereals."
As you will more than likely know at this stage, Sean has undertaken this monster challenge to raise awareness and money for
Meningitis Research. You can read on and find out more on how Sean is getting on over on the dedicated Just Giving page. Make sure to keep donating and help Sean raise as much money as possible for the charity.
